The Basevi Trading Co. has been in operation for over 75 years. Originally chartered through royal decree by the last true king of Ala Mhigo prior to the King of Ruin. The Basevi Trading Co. became known as the nation's premiere exporter of one of the most lucrative products Ala Mhigo had to offer: her warriors. In the wake of the Garlean criminal invasion and occupation of Gyr Abania and the passing of Commander Isembar Basevi in 1555, the company charter was dissolved.However, the family-owned company was not to be written off. In 1566 Qira Basevi, who had been taken in as a ward of high House Vespertine, picked up the reins of the all but forgotten company and struck up a new deal - a charter with the Holy See of Ishgard. Traveling all of Eorzea, Basevi hired destitute Ala Mhigan refugees offering room, board, training, and pay in order to aid the Ishgardians in the Dragonsong War.Upon the ultimate best case scenario and surprising resolution of the thousand year war, Basevi and the company turned their eyes back to Ala Mhigo and aided the Scions of the Seventh Dawn along with the Bull of Ala Mhigo in reclaiming their homeland.
What We Do
Currently, the Basevi Trading Company maintains their charter with Ishgard, rewritten and approved with the now ruling Parliament. A secondary charter has been issued through Ala Mhigo's temporary leadership, aiding the rebuilding nation through providing tradesmen and security forces.A partnership has been formed with the free company: Dungeon Divers which is led by Doc Allistar. This partnership involves joint operations and exchanging of services and goods. A Thavnairian themed hookah lounge is also jointly run, the Basevi Trading Co. providing security for the venue and for the vessels who travel east to procure the exotic goods sold within the venue.
